Information processed

CookieBlock locally examines page text, labels, attributes, and controls to identify cookie-consent interfaces. This information is processed temporarily on your device and is never transmitted to the developer or a third party.

Information stored

Protection settings and domains where you pause CookieBlock are stored using Chrome's synced extension storage. Chrome may sync them according to your browser account settings. Anonymous banner totals are stored locally. They contain no URLs, domains, titles, or page content.

The most recent action for an open tab is held in Chrome's in-memory extension session storage and cleared when that tab navigates or closes.

Sharing and remote services

CookieBlock has no analytics, advertising, accounts, remote code, or developer-operated server. The developer cannot access the information stored by the extension. CookieBlock does not sell or share user data.

Permissions

Website access is required to locally detect and operate consent controls on HTTP and HTTPS pages. Storage remembers preferences, paused domains, and anonymous totals. Active tab and scripting temporarily read only the current website's hostname when you open CookieBlock and its normal page connection is unavailable, keeping the per-site switch reliable after an extension reload.

Your choices

You can pause CookieBlock for an individual domain, disable it globally, clear extension storage through Chrome, or uninstall it to remove its stored data.
